Anchoring the ground floor of the Terrazzo building in the Gulch neighborhood, PRIMA was one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of 2014. The nearly 9,000 square foot project included the addition of a concrete post-tensioned mezzanine for private seating and a custom wine room. The urban aesthetic included a custom designed interior structural steel glass frame with integrated spandrel glass, multiple colors of terrazzo flooring in an intricate pattern, and first-of-its-kind light fixtures by famed artist Bruce Munro.
Working in this mixed use building required close coordination with owners and management, as well as minimal disruptions to several luxury condo owners. The kitchen was designed around chef Sal Avila with the main feature being a custom wood-fire grill.
