Hermitage Hotel

The Hermitage Hotel was Nashville’s first million-dollar hotel when it opened in 1910. R.C. Mathews Contractor was selected to do the $11.1 million total renovation and upgrade to make this Tennessee’s first AAA Five-Diamond hotel. Upon reopening in February 2003, the 160,000-square-foot hotel included a newly created grand foyer with stained glass ceiling, a complete facelift of the restaurant and grand ballroom, and completely new oversized guest rooms. Each of the guest room floors were totally demolished and rebuilt with new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, walls and finishes.
