602 Taylor Street

Located in historic Germantown, R.C. Mathews partnered with Smith Gee Studio on the 14-acre Taylor Place Mixed-Use Development – a dynamic bend of office, residential, restaurant, and retail space. The development includes 602 Taylor Street, a 2-story building with 18,000 square feet of office space. 602 Taylor reflects much of the industrial context and character of the original site – including the brick, metal, and glass create an elevation rooted in time.

The building was completed in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020, therefore several core elements responding to a post-Covid-19 world were incorporated into the design during construction, including: an HVAC system equipped with ionization technology to scrub the air throughout the building and touchless faucets, trash cans and air dryers. Additionally, while the building has several entry points, access is controlled to one main opening for non-employees.
