Intern Spotlight: Clay!
Meet Clay, one of our incredible interns this summer!
Clay is an incoming junior at Auburn University, where he is pursuing a degree in Building Science. His passion for construction was sparked during his first summer job on a multi-family construction site, which gave him a first-hand look at the energy and complexity of the industry. Originally from Nashville, Clay found out about R.C. Mathews through family connections, and he was drawn to our variety of projects and culture.
Fun Fact: Clay developed a meat allergy after a tick bite... but that hasn’t slowed down his love for hunting.
Go-To Job Site Lunch: His favorite lunch stop is any good Mexican restaurant.
Hobbies: Exercising, fishing, and golfing.
What Would Make This Internship a Success: Getting meaningful, hands-on experience and learning as much as possible on the job.
During his time with RCMC this summer, Clay is eager to expand his experience in construction by learning more about steel erection, getting exposure to preconstruction processes, and learning more about hands-on work in the field. We are excited to have Clay join us!
