The Frist Center for the Visual Arts contains three large galleries, a kitchen and café, a multimedia auditorium, restored art deco lobby, and state-of-the-art security systems. The exterior scope of work includes a landscaped courtyard with ornamental trellis, a grand marble-flanked monumental stairway, and two parking lots. As a part of our construction work we removed six structural columns from the second floor and supported the third-floor columns with new steel framing. We restored more than 25,000 square feet of wood block floors, existing terrazzo floors, ornamental aluminum grillwork and marble paneling. The museum-quality finishes are testimony to the quality craftsmanship that went into every detail.

A 60-foot-tall circular concrete structure supports the massive 90-foot-tall clock tower. The project includes a millennium plaza with a commissioned fountain sculpture, elaborate stonework, and extensive millwork paneling and trim.

Historical renovation of the famous Ryman Auditorium (home of the Grand Ole Opry) construction involved new four-story structures back stage for dressing rooms, fly gallery, lighting and sound systems, restoration of pews, an addition for concessions, retail and restrooms. The aggressive schedule for completion was required to meet the deadline set for a CBS TV special. Special care was taken in preserving and restoring the tongue and groove ceiling and existing plaster walls. Many new life-safety features were integrated into the existing finishes.
